Activity based Support Group

Are you feeling isolated, anxious or depressed?  Are you in need of supportive space?  Come and join a weekly group in which you will have the opportunity to engage in activities and share feelings and issues in a warm and contained supportive environment.

Activities include:  pottery, fabric painting, beading and decoupage.
Groups are run by a registered occupational therapist with years of experience and in facilitating groups with the aim of promoting wellness.

Costs of sessions can be claimed back from medical aid.

B&W Basics at the Darkroom Club

•The Frank Joubert Darkroom Club meets approximately once a month in the Frank Joubert Darkroom. The sessions are usually on a Thursday night from 6 - 9 pm. (During school terms – which works out to be two - four times per quarter.)
•Chemicals are provided for both processing b&w film and printing b&w enlargements. 
•The sessions are run by a qualified photographer and educator. 
•The sessions allow one to share ideas and receive feedback on your work from other b&w enthusiasts.
•A maximum of 8 people per session. Members are asked to email or txt before hand to book their places.

Botanical Drawing

Learn to draw indigenous plants and represent them in pen & ink.
You will have a range of plant samples to draw from and a microscope and data projector will be used to illustrate small parts of plants, particularly the flowers.
The course starts with practicing the basics of drawing and representing shadows with tone in pencil.It is therefore ideal for beginners and anyone interested in seeing and using the fine details of plants in their designs and artwork, or people interested in developing their botanical skills.

The focus of the course is drawing, using pencil, and pen & ink but the last lesson will incorporate colour using a medium of your own choice.

About the presenter:
Wendy is a qualified botanist, botanical illustrator and environmental educator who is passionate about fynbos.  She currently offers courses in plant identification t and botanical drawing for adults and environmental art for children.
